a delicious, refreshing new year drink, to support gut health

Part of the practice of yoga is looking after your body and wellbeing too. I have recently been trying a the odd kombucha, which has grown in popularity over the last few years! It's especially good if you are cutting down on alcohol after any Christmas excesses....


Kombucha is a fizzy drink which also brings some wellness benefits. Because it’s fermented, it contains live cultures that are said to support gut health and help keep digestion balanced when enjoyed regularly. It’s also typically lower in sugar than other fizzy drinks.


For a refreshing twist, start with a Ginger Kombucha as your base, for spicy kick. (I discovered Equinox Kombucha from Waitrose, which is good as it's not too sweet at all, but you can get other varieties elsewhere).


I like to add fresh mint and raspberries to add some extra variety, or maybe a slice of orange. A fizzy and gut-friendly start to the new year!!


Ingredients:

  • Equinox Ginger Kombucha

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Fresh raspberries

  • (Optional) Fresh grated ginger for extra zing or orange slices
