Sitali Pranayama, also known as the “cooling breath,” involves inhaling through a rolled tongue to draw in air that feels gently cooling and soothing. This can be beneficial on these hot summer days. If you can't roll your tongue, you can purse your lips, instead.

Its calming effect helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress, easing anxiety, and even lowering blood pressure.
It's said to draw moisture from the tongue into the body, hence cooling the body.
Traditional Ayurvedic wisdom and modern studies suggest that it regulates internal heat, balances pitta energy, and refreshes body and mind .
A regular practice—just a few minutes each day—is said to curb mild hunger or thirst, improve focus, and promote a more serene state. Plus, it’s simple, and reasonably short to do.
