This week, we’ll be focusing on asanas (poses) that open the heart, chest and lungs, such as Ustrasana (Camel), Puppy Dog and Upward Plank.
These poses can help to increase flexibility in the shoulders, reduce depression and open up the lungs, aiding the breath. Camel pose in particular is also good for digestion and opening the thoracic (upper) spine.
When we find balance in this area and the anahata or ‘heart’ chakra, we feel kindness and compassion to ourselves and others. We feel a sense of belonging and trust in our hearts.
Relaxing yoga suitable for beginners and beyond.
