Setting Your boundaries- What's it all about?


Do you ever say 'yes' when you mean 'no' and then end up regretting it?!


Surely we can all resonate with this sentiment?! But what are boundaries, and what has yoga got to do with it?

Well, boundaries are simply limits we set to protect our energy, manage relationships, and prioritise self-care.


As women navigate midlife and the changes brought on by menopause, defining your boundaries becomes even more essential to maintain emotional and physical well-being.


During menopause, symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, and anxiety (caused by lack of oestrogen and hormone fluctuations) can intensify stress, making it even more important to set clear boundaries at work, home, and in social settings. Saying no to excessive demands, delegating tasks, or communicating openly about our personal limits can help create a healthier balance.


Prioritising time for rest, exercise, and mindfulness practices helps manage menopause symptoms while preventing burnout.


Yoga can help us take that all important time to relax and listen to our bodies. I always find my yoga poses help to give me an insight into how I'm feeling overall. Breathing techniques can help manage anxiety, or even energise you when you're feeling tired!
